End of the Semester :)
I really enjoyed Angela's English 304 class. I thought everything we did in it was so helpful because we could direct it to real life things. I got a lot of tips for my resume, and in the end it came out so much better than it ever had before I took this class. We got to design a website for Habitat for Humanity and I think it was such a neat idea. Not only did we learn how to make a website, we actually helped out a real organization, as oppossed to just doing it for ourselves. Habitat for Humanity was such a great organization to deal with and I am so glad we completed it with excellency. I would recommend this class as a "must take" for anyone who needs to take Business Writing 304. I hope everyone does awesome on their finals and HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :)

Interview
I am really glad I got to an interview before an actual interview with my internship. I think this is a really good idea for anyone who has never had a "real" interview. The questions that I thought were especially helpful for me were the questions about what I would do in a situation with my co-workers. If they had too many tasks to do , or were not doing enough , were two scenarios I had to talk about in my interview. Overall, I think I had a lot of confidence and am very excited for a future interview with the Charlotte Bobcats.

After Angie told us to call a family member and tell them how much you love them, I called my Grandma. She was so excited to here from me. She enjoyed hearing all about school, what I was doing, how my friends were and many other small things. It was so nice to hear how grateful she was just for a simple five minute phone call, that I felt bad that I do not call more often. The rest of my family keeps in contact by email, but my grandma does not have an email. She was going to have tea after lunch and it made me smile because that simple little activity made the day great for her. Sometimes its the little things that keeps us happy day to day..never take them for granite!

Classmate Presentation
I really enjoyed the presentation on Amy Winehouse. I think that was really interesting because it was so random and I knew nothing about her. I only knew what she looked like but did not know if she had an eating disorder. I hope that she recovers soon!

This weekend!
I am very excited for this weekend. My family is coming down from PA! We swim Virginia Tech on Sunday @ 11. It will be a very close meet, we go back and forth with them all the time. Our teams match up very closely, so we are hoping to pull it off! We are going to the game on saturday night, but our team is only allowed to stay until halftime because we have to rest our legs. Tonight we are going to Calhoun Corners for dinner with my parents and boyfriend. It should be a great time! I really enjoyed everyones presentations, they were a lot of fun! Have a great one!

Caught My Eye
This article, http://www.careerjournal.com/jobhunting/interviewing/20060207-needleman.html, was the one that caught my eye the most. This article was about four tips for acing phone interviews. Most companies do their primary interview on the phone, so this is why it stood out the most for me. The four tips they gave were to minimize distractions, sharpen your verbal skill, prepare in advance and follow up. Although one may think that these four are simple things to do before a phone interview, many people get too nervous to think about the logical things they should do. When I prepare for a phone interview, I am going to make pre-written responses to typical questions I think my employer will ask me. Also, I will go to a quiet place with no distractions.

In 10 Years..
To be honest, I can't believe I will be 30 years old in ten years. It is finally hitting me that I am getting older and soon starting to think about what I really will be doing in the real world. Above anything, I hope to be happy and healthy, even if other things do not go my way. Professionally, I hope have a highly full filing job working with a professional sports team. I hope to do marketing and advertising for any type of sports team. This would be amazing for me because I love the advertising part of the business world and I also love sports. I hope to be happily married to the man of my dreams :) and to have healthy children. I will still be very close to my extended family because that is one of my biggest priorities. I want to work as long as I need to , to be able to save money to travel because that is one of the things I want to do when I am older with a family. To live in Charlotte would be ideal! Although I will no longer be competitively swimming, I hope to be in great shape and go to the gym every day that I can!
